Our Founder's Story
McKenzi Marie Fish was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 15.
She underwent four months of chemotherapy at Seattle Children’s Hospital while in her sophomore year and competitive dancing. During this period of treatment, she encountered several children and teenagers who were also battling cancer, but had months or years of treatment longer than her.
Upon being declared cancer-free and completing her treatment, McKenzi realized she couldn’t go back to the life she had before, and chose instead to be there for those still fighting at the hospital.
